Spring is in the air, March giveaway!

Thursday 17 March 2011

Printed on cotton in this beautiful peacock colour this cushion is a beautiful spring edition to you home. I love the papercut leaves and the folky feel of it.  I would like to give one of these to one of you, all you have to do is give a couple lines about what you like about spring. ...Winner will be announced in a couple of weeks.
For me it's the lighter evenings which means you can go on bike rides, and having fresh daffodils and flowers in the house . mmmmm
thanks, and happy spring. x

  3. Each season has its own unique beauty. Spring, for me, is all about heady scents and the rebirth of a sublime color palette that seems to have become all the more beautiful during its absence.

  4. Spring...the time when the BBQ is reborn from it's hibernation in the shed, people smile as they bask in the extended daylight and the sound of corks popping out of rose wine bottles outside heat lamp baked bars becomes a regular thing again.

  5. The return of colours in nature.
The sounds of children playing outside.
    The smell of the soil.

  6. Spring in southern California is wonderful. You have the best of summer and fall, one day it might be sunny, but then you start to tire of it and then you get gloomy weather.

  7. Spring is my favorite time of year (being a May baby n all...)and one my favorite things about it is the return of colour to the landscape. All those blooms and blossoms, so pretty!

  9. Spring is all about Sangria, and picnics with little bento boxes filled with fresh berries and dark chocolate, crackers and fancy cheese. Flying kites, star gazing with a lover. Barbecue's with corn on the cob. Jumping on trampoline's, getting caught in a sun-shower and swinging on swings. Picking flowers to put in your hair or give to a friend, getting out of work and smiling at the fact that there is still some daylight left. Easter egg hunts [even if you are not religious it is a must] pastel-flavored dresses that are just begging for a 50s dance party, and early shows that you enjoy on patio's or rooftops while sipping on a mojitio made with fresh mint. Spring is when everything and everyone comes alive, and you forget about all of the dreariness of the winter and find hope in every little thing that you see on the street and you smile way too much!

  14. Spring (this year) for me, is all about moving to my new house! The adventures of learning each nook and cranny, each creak and grumble of the timbers! My first new home, where the sunshine will fall at each hour of the day, the pretty morning frosts and the way the garden will change throughout the year :) I am sure this will be the most exciting spring ever.

  18. I like suddenly seeing acid greens in the garden as plants that were dormant suddenly go crazy, and being able to venture out without first finding thick wooly socks, boots, a scarf etc.!

  21. I like being able to leave the front door open, have a chilly house (I'm always hot!) and getting dressed and out the door in 10 minutes flat.

As well; biking, spring-air cheeks, fresh beginnings, cleaning out the house, cooking lighter, hanging laundry...

  22. I love how the world smells different and seems full of new possibilities..

  23. The watery morning sun and little green leaves popping out of seemingly dead twigs.. First warmer days, birds singing at early daybreak, the promise of more warm days to come. Cats that get the weird feeling of excitement, tickles in their tails: Spring! I just Love it!

.. even the urge to clean the house thoroughly because the sun on the windows is merciless

  24. Hi Donna, Congrats on the article in this month's Ideal Home and I adore the peacock blue cushion! Spring to me is having the family over for late evening dinners outside on the patio and talking about plans for the year ahead. And listening to my dad say his quirky little poem; "Spring is sprung, the grass is ris', I wonder where the birdies is". Silly but a funny Springtime memory :)

  25. The lengthening days, the promise of warm, sunny weather and spring bulbs (though, not the hayfever they give me!).

  26. My Spring dilemma is whether to keep the Donna Wilson Canibdoll that I actually bought for my Niece's first birthday. I would be more likely to let the hungry, wee, 'loon' loose if I was lucky enough to win the beautiful cushion. It would certainly soften the blow!

  27. I like the bare spots of asphalt, and the melting snow. The sunshine when I walk to school early in the morning, and the light green birch buds:)

  28. Oh wow great giveaway! For me it is daffodils, blue skies, also the lighter evenings, the removal of throws on beds and winter coats. There is just a great feeling of hope as well, as Summer doesn't seem so far away! x

  32. Spring is: bright, gold sunshine but a cold crisp breeze. Bright green grass and a fresh new smell in the air. Bird song late into the evening echoing off the tenements in our street. People out and about, heads up, not laden with woolies and breathing in the fresh new air. Spring is tiny wee flowers everywhere chatting and cheering as you walk to work. Spring is the best time of year.

  35. Oh the best thing is the light and putting on a lighter jacket and nicer shoes! Oh and leave the mittens and scarfs and hats and all the rest of the winter gear at home just going for a walk in the sun looking at all the spring greens.

  36. I am originally from South Africa but now live in London. Cape Town kind of has two seasons - warm or wet. What I love about England is that you can really feel and see the change in season to spring. It sort of starts bubbling - you spot the shoots of daffodils in the odd garden and when you walk through a park, as you leave work the sky is still light, when you wake up in the morning the sun is getting up to. Then all of a sudden London is buzzing - everyone feels it and they are out and enjoying the light (pretending it is warmer then it probably is) but definitely making the most of it. And the best part is summer is around the corner and warmth really will come this year.

    p.s. lovely pillow

  38. Spring is my favourite season because gradually the days begin to stretch out before you, there's a lovely fresh, green smell on the breeze, and the colour yellow appears in the world again after the grey of winter.

    ReplyDelete
  39. spring is sitting next to my fresly sown peas everyday for hours hoping to see the first sprout peeking through the soil. And sitting next to them again once they've come out trying to detect any sign that things are growing!

  40. Spring means that my flat will be less damp, the owl cushion (yours!) can eventually return to my daughters room, I will be less miserable and more inclined to sew also that i will shed my ragged woollen layers and hopefully look less like a lost bag lady! What a misery guts!
No, not really, the spring will hopefully be the start of new adventures, for me and my daughter and maybe new prospects of selling my own work as well as of course the beautiful flowers and happy faces.
