My Mum

Thursday, 13 September 2012

This post is nothing to do with work, but wanted to dedicate it to my mum, who at this very moment is cycling all the way from Lands End to John O Groats.  She started 4 days ago and has cycled past Glastonbury, and last night was in Monmouth in Wales!

She decided to take up this enormous (and painful) challenge to raise money for the Maggie Centre which is a cancer Charity. Mum, who is in her 50's (she won't let me tell you her actual age!) has had so many friends who have been diagnosed with cancer, and the Maggie centre provide beautifully designed spaces for those dealing with the disease.

The cycle is really tough and takes 14 days in total so she will be cycling an average of 70 miles for the next 10 days nearly 1000 miles in total. And although she has been training very hard, I think she's finding it pretty tough.

If anyone would like to support my mum and her charity this is her just giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/Alice-Wilson2
Any donation large or small would really really help her crank the miles away!

thanks everyone xx
